A Plain-English Guide to Dubai Desert Safari Packages

Blog Article

Picking a safari should be the easy part of your trip. But with so many Dubai desert safari packages to choose from, it's easy to feel lost. Should you go VIP? Is the Hummer worth it? Do you need a quad bike? This guide answers all of that in plain English.

We're Dubai Safari Desert, and we run desert trips all year, from short sunrise trips to overnight stays. Here's how our packages compare, so you can decide in a few minutes.

How to Choose in Three Steps

Before comparing prices, ask yourself three quick questions:

• Do you have a morning, an evening or a full night free?

• Would you rather drive yourself or be driven?

• Do you want extra comfort, or is the standard camp fine?

Once you have the answers, the right package usually picks itself.

The Evening Packages

The evening is the most popular time to go. You see the dunes in the golden light, watch the sunset and finish with dinner and shows under the stars. All evening trips run from about 2 PM to 9 PM.

Evening Dubai Safari, AED 80

This is our best-value trip. The evening Dubai safari comes with 4x4 pickup, dune bashing, a camel ride, a buffet dinner and four live shows. If you just want the classic desert experience, this is the one.

The AED 100 Evening Trip

This option adds a few extras, like sandboarding and henna, along with a BBQ dinner and pickup in an air-conditioned car.

The VIP Trip at AED 120

Prefer a little more comfort? Our VIP Dubai safari includes VIP seating, a BBQ buffet and four live shows. The extra cost is small, and the evening feels calmer.

The Premium Trip at AED 230

For the most comfort, choose our premium desert safari Dubai package. It comes with premium service at the camp, and you can add a quad bike if you like.

Packages With More Adventure

Some people want to do more than sit in the back of a car. These packages are for them.

Quad Bike Safari at AED 160

It's the full evening safari with a quad bike ride added. Timing is the same, about 2 PM to 9 PM, and it's one of our most-booked trips for groups of friends.

Buggy and Quad Bike Safari, AED 200

Can't decide between a buggy and a quad? Do both. Our buggy and quad bike safari comes with helmets and safety gear, and the timing is flexible.

Hummer Dubai Safari, AED 140

Riding over the dunes in a Hummer feels very different from a normal 4x4. Our Hummer Dubai safari runs from about 2 PM to 9 website PM, and finishes with dinner and shows at the camp.

What Every Trip Has in Common

Whichever package you pick, a few things stay the same. Our camps follow a traditional Bedouin style, with low seating, soft lights and plenty of space. Dinner has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. We confirm your pickup and drop-off 24 hours before the trip, so you know exactly when to be ready.

We also offer an Abu Dhabi desert safari for AED 140, and city tours of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Hatta, if you want to explore more of the country.

How the Evening Goes

Your driver picks you up in the early afternoon. Once the city is behind you, the road turns to sand. The driver lets some air out of the tyres, and then the dune bashing starts. The car goes up, over and down the dunes at angles that make everyone shout. It's bumpy, but it's a lot of fun.

After that, there's a sunset stop on top of a big dune. From there, you head to the camp for a camel ride, dinner and live shows. At around 9 PM, it's time for the drive back to your hotel.

Is Dune Bashing Safe?

The drivers know these dunes very well and drive them daily. You wear a seatbelt the whole time. If you get car sick, eat a light lunch and ask for the front seat. If you're pregnant, have a bad back or have a baby with you, tell us when booking, and we'll suggest the best package.
